A patient admitted 3 days ago with acute heart failure has a history of depression and suicidal ideations. During the hospital stay, the patient had been depressed and withdrawn. On day 4, the patient tells a nurse he is feeling much better and no longer feels depressed. The nurse should recognize that this patient
